Once you have your website, maintain it. Add new content to it every few days to keep it fresh and interesting. For a work at home business to succeed, you need to keep people interested. Most people don't buy the first time they visit a website, and if you don't keep it up to date, your potential customers will lose interest.
The fourth rule is that a work at home business is work. This seems obvious on the surface, but when you are working at home, household distractions abound. This is especially true if you have children. You should have a designated area that you use as your home office, and a set schedule that you stick with. You should train your children not to disturb you during working hours unless there is an emergency. Let friends and other family members know what your working hours are and ask them to respect them. It is vital that you be free from distractions during your working hours so that you can be as productive as possible.
